Leading the naming and branding initiative for Rodeph Sholom Children’s programs
When Congregation Rodeph Sholom (CRS) contacted us they needed a name and branding system for their new young children’s program—and they needed it in just a matter of weeks! The program was designed with two intentions: to provide a series of diverse Jewish learning experiences for very young children and their parents, and to help drive Congregation membership signups.
After performing deep-dive client research—geared toward developing accurate insight into CRS’s voice, persona, short-term needs and long-term goals—our team used naming best practices to develop an initial series of naming concepts, which we presented to CRS for review. After clearly articulating the strengths and weaknesses of each naming direction, we worked closely with CRS to refine and edit the initial list down to a three-name short list.
After careful review by the CRS Board and key Congregation members, the name “Sholom Sprouts” was selected. The name is especially memorable since “Sholom” leveraged the Congregation’s name, and using it allowed us to refine existing visual assets for our redesign of the brand logo. Next we successfully completed brand guidelines, a program brochure, and a website landing page to launch the program.
Since its launch, Sholom Sprouts has become one of the more popular series of programs at CRS.
Helping the Congregation announce its Annual Suite of Programs
ondesign also provided design services for the Congregation’s annual Community Engagement print brochure. The brochure is a handy go-to guide and reference for all CRS members, providing a listing of the Congregation’s suite of programming and classes for the new Jewish year, including an array of spiritual, educational, social justice, and community based initiatives. Our elegant and easy to use brochure design also includes a year-at-a-glance calendar.
ondesign was able to quickly move the process forward and leverage our diverse Jewish culture and rich history at CRS into beautiful work for the new Sholom Sprouts program and our annual Community Engagement initiatives. We were thrilled with the final results.
