All design teams have their favorite go-to apps. We took a poll internally and here’s a list of ours.

Niña’s Apps

  1. Instagram: I gotta let my family know that I’m alive somehow and you could not pay me to log on to Facebook. Mostly a place to store photos of street art and my travels.
  2. Apple Podcasts and iBooks: I know I’m cheating by lumping these two apps together but. Stories are my favorite thing!!! And these two apps give me my stories.
  3. Spotify: Music is v. important; it fuels creativity, etc, etc. I like the business model? I don’t know. MUSIC.
  4. Tumblr: Everyone on this garbage app hates being on this garbage app but it is still currently the best a barely adequate place for folks who are in fandoms to engage with their people (R.I.P. Livejournal).
  5. Pokemon GO: Gotta catch ’em all.

Julie’s Apps

  1. Instagram: More as a personal scrapbook than anything else. But definitely guilty of the occasional stalking of celebs, too.
  2. VSCO: In my experience, THE best in-phone photo editing app. Even IG copied them (or at least the editing tools suddenly seemed verrrrrrry similar after a certain update).
  3. Seamless: Food is very important. Not leaving the house to join the hungry hordes roaming my neighborhood (Williamsburg) is sometimes also just as important.
  4. KakaoTalk: ESSENTIAL messaging app–essential for groups (if I get a group TEXT, I dare not participate and pray it just dies on its own ASAP), essential for sending photo/video, and of course, essential emojis.
  5. Samsung Calendar: I forget everything. All other calendars sync so beautifully to this native app. I also use it to post personal daily to-do’s, which I desperately need. Because I forget EVERYTHING.

 Okey’s Apps

  1. Instagram, a great time killer for me when I’m standing on queue, waiting for people, instagram is open.
  2. MLB.com, check baseball scores and standings, stats, videos. It’s THE Baseball lovers app.
  3. CitiBike, when it’s time to find and get on a bike, this app is very handy.
  4. Feedly, it replaced google reader for me when they decided to drop their RSS solution.
  5. Nike+Run Club, the quantifiable-self app and a necessity for me during the morning run or gym workout.
